UPDATE: Qantas axes more flights from new 'strike' timetable

UPDATE | Qantas has pulled an additional 20 flights per week from its just-revamped 'strike schedule', with coast-to-coast services to and from Perth being the most heavily hit.
The cuts come due to the grounding of two more aircraft on top of the five which were hangared this week.
A Qantas spokesman told Australian Business Traveller that the new timetable would remain in place "for at least a month", although the airline is unable to detail which additional flights will be affected, apart from observing that these will be "mainly between eastern states and Perth".
This brings the total tally of cancelled flights up to around 130 per week.
PREVIOUS | Qantas' new 'strike timetable' comes into effect today, Monday, October 17, with the airline cutting 110 flights per week due to ongoing industrial action.
Qantas says the timetable will remain in place "for the next month due to Qantas grounding five aircraft as a result of a backlog of maintenance caused by industrial action by the Australian Licenced Aircraft Engineers Association."
"The union has had overtime bans in place since the start of September as well as an official instruction for its members to go-slow on day to day work" the airline said. "These bans are still in place and the union has indicated they will remain in place until at least Christmas."
